Equestrian Education

Bateman Equestrian Education is a 4 credit, grade 11 course combining learning at both the school and the barn. We are in partnership with Cayley Wilson Performance Horses who specialize in cutting and cow horse disciplines. The course begins with barn and horse safety (horse psychology) and covers correct handling and ground work, grooming, saddling and bridling procedures, and basic horsemanship and riding skills that can be applied to other equestrian disciplines. Students are not required to have previous horse experience. Students in grades 9 and 10 visit the barn as "alternates" to see what the program is about and for our staff get to know them as well.
