Human & Social

Our students will study personal and human social skills and as they relate to students' identity in the world - both as individuals and as members of their community. We are learning that personal and human social skills encompass the abilities students needs to thrive as individuals, to understand and care about themselves and others, and to find and achieve their purposes in the world.

Cops for Cancer

Cops for Cancer

Our school proudly participated in the Cops for Cancer initiative this past fall, welcoming 25 riders who cruised through our bottom floor. As our staff and students lined the hallways, we collectively supported this partnership between first responders and the Canadian Cancer Society. Our Senior and Junior leadership students had the honour of presenting a donation cheque to these dedicated riders, contributing to the funds raised for supporting children with cancer and their families.

Grad Pancake Breakfast

Grad Pancake Breakfast

Every December we celebrate our Grads with an in-house pancake breakfast. This is a parent-run event intended to bring our graduating students together to share a gourmet hot breakfast and celebrate a milestone year.

Jingle Dress

The Jingle Dress Project

Bateman's Indigenous program recently crafted an orange Jingle Dress. The jingle dance holds deep cultural significance as a healing dance and is often performed to bring healing and positive energy to both the dancer and those in attendance. As the dress took shape, small tabs were added, and both staff and students were invited to participate by placing jingles on it after learning about the dress's significance and history. Once the dress was complete, our Indigenous Support Worker danced to awaken the dress as a way for us to honour the lost children and survivors of residential schools.

Key Club

Key Club

We're thrilled to share the success of our recent school-wide Food Drive, spearheaded by the amazing members of the RBSS Key Club! This initiative was driven by our commitment to community welfare and aimed to support the Archway Food Bank. Thanks to the efforts of our Key Club, we were able to make a meaningful donation that will positively impact those in need within our community.

Volleyball

Senior Girls Volleyball

The Senior Team play at the AAAA level this past season and worked hard as a team and were competitive in most of their games. They had amazing spirit with the most fans out ever at our senior night!

Student Leadership Conference

Student Leadership/ BC Student Leadership Conference

Our fantastic leadership students play a major role in making our school a vibrant and engaging place beyond the classroom. From energetic Pep Rallies to the wonderfully spooky Halloween Haunted House and the eagerly anticipated themed spirit weeks, our dedicated leaders create experiences that the entire school looks forward to. Their efforts contribute significantly to fostering a positive and spirited school culture. We're proud to share that a group of our Bateman leaders recently attended the BC Student Leadership Conference, joining over 200 students from different schools. During this enriching experience, they participated in insightful workshops, listened to inspiring keynote speakers, and established valuable connections. The knowledge and perspectives gained from the conference will undoubtedly enhance our leadership program, benefiting the entire school community.
