Students who attend Robert Bateman have the advantage of choosing from unique physical education programs.
We offer PE 9-12 as well as many other courses including strength and conditioning, outdoor education and other courses.
PE 9 - Allows students to acquire the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that will enhance their quality of life through individual, team, and dance activities.
PE Football 9-12 - Allows students to receive their PE credit while improving in the areas of sport performance, sport specific skills, and general football knowledge. Students will spend time in the weight room, on the track, on the field, and in the gymnasium.
PE 10 - Allows students to acquire the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that will enhance their quality of life through individual, team, and dance activities.
PE 10 Honours – What does it take to become an elite athlete? The course is an introduction to elite performance training and will challenge you in the areas of strength, speed, agility, quickness, endurance and nutrition.
PE 11/12–Allows students to acquire the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that will enable them to enhance their quality of life through active living.
PE Superfit 11 – This cardio based course will give students the opportunity to improve their health and fitness through activity and nutrition.
PE Fitness and Conditioning 11 – The course focuses on student improvement of overall strength & fitness. Classtime is split between the weight room and the track.
PE Fitness and Conditioning 12 – The course looks to have students develop their own fitness with an emphasis on lifting weights and training principles. Classtime is split between the weight room and the track.
PE Sport Performance 11 – The course will offer high achieving student athletes a multi-sport training program. Students will gain experience in a variety of strength, speed and power techniques.
PE Sport Performance 12 – The course is ideal for the student-athlete who wishes to improve their athletic performance. As an athlete, students will participate in a training regime that includes free-weight Olympic lifts, flexibility training, speed training, and agility training.
PE Leadership 11/12 – The class is designed to teach the students the necessary skills in order to support the younger PE classes in all aspects of their physical fitness. Secondly, the students are given roles of leadership throughout the different activities that are done in the semester.
