February 7, 2025

Good afternoon,

It is with mixed emotions that I share some important news:  our wonderful vice principal, Mr. Andrew Macphail, will be moving on to an exciting new role as District Vice Principal at Abbotsford Virtual School this month.  We are all incredibly proud of Mr. Macphail and grateful for the positive impact he has had on our school; he has been a pillar of support, leadership, and kindness in our community.  Whether guiding students through challenges, celebrating student successes, mentoring and supporting staff, or bringing music and energy to school events, he has made an indelible mark on the Bateman community.  Mr. Macphail will be sorely missed.

Joining us from Colleen and Gordie Howe Middle School is Mr. Cameron Cal.  Mr. Cal has been with the district since 2016, and as our new vice principal, will be a welcome addition to our strong Bateman staff.

As always, please reach out to your student’s teachers or the office if you have any questions about what’s happening at our amazing school.

Stay safe,

Mrs. Jennifer Koehler

Principal, Robert Bateman Secondary School

NEW!  10-10 Rule

Students should be in classes—not in hallways, at lockers, or in bathrooms--for the first and last ten minutes of every class.  The library and counselling centre are not open to drop-in students at this time.  The 10-10 Rule means that students should be in class on time, for the entire class, for instruction and learning. This rule was highlighted at the assemblies this week and has been reinforced by classroom teachers and P.A. announcements.
