RBSS News December 13, 2024
Good morning.
Happy Holidays, Bateman families!
It is a good time to reach out to your child’s teachers as we approach the end of the calendar year. Going into the break, students should know what they need to do and learn to be successful in their classes. If your child cannot tell you this information, feel free to email their teachers for support and clarity. Please see our school website for staff emails. Students should have a plan to resolve outstanding “IE” plans, as well, as unresolved plans can be converted into failing marks on the final report card. There are only 13 regular school days in January before the final report; it’s a smart idea to get organized now.
Stay safe,
Mrs. Koehler
Principal of Robert Bateman Secondary School

Celebrating Our Community
This week has showcased competitive athletes, talented musicians, creative artists, and academic superstars at Bateman. It’s a fantastic community.
Join me in thanking the staff and volunteers that make your kid’s days at this school so rich and meaningful. Families, a shout out from you means the world to our hard-working, devoted staff. If you know that an adult at Bateman is positively impacting your child—be it a coach, a classroom teacher, an EA, or a support worker--I encourage you to send an email or message to that lovely person before we move into the holiday break. Thank you!
Extended Absences
We do not recommend missing school for a vacation; most of your child’s learning happens in the classroom with their teacher. However, if you choose to remove your child from classes from more than three days, please let staff know as soon as possible and fill in an Extended Absence/Vacation form. You can find this on our website.
