The Robert Bateman Secondary School golf team wrapped up an amazing April with wins at two major events and are now eyeing success at both regionals and provincials.

The Bateman foursome of Ryan Burns, Owen Crockett, Emerson Bronsema and Maxim McKenzie won the overall championship at the Victoria Police High School golf tournament at Olympic View Golf Course in Langford on April 19 and 20.

Following a comprehensive search process, the Abbotsford Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Nosek to the position of Superintendent of Schools & CEO for the Abbotsford School District.

In accordance with the School Act, the Abbotsford Board of Education must approve a balanced budget by June 30th each year. The Abbotsford School District is currently preparing its budget for the 2023-24 school year and is inviting employees, families and community members to share their voice in the consultation process. 

At the March 7th public board meeting, the Abbotsford Board of Education passed a motion to approve and formalize the school calendar for 2023-2024. The Abbotsford Board of Education is required to create a calendar that meets the legislated requirements of the School Act, and the Abbotsford Teachers Union (ATU) Collective Agreement.

This past December, the Indigenous Education Advisory Committee reviewed applications submitted by several grade 12 Indigenous students from secondary schools throughout the Abbotsford School District.

Today, Abbotsford School District's Superintendent, Dr. Kevin Godden, announced his intent to retire at the end of the 2022/23 school year to all staff in the district via email. He had discussed this decision with the Abbotsford Board of Education earlier in the school year.
